Reviews From Our Customers

Reader Friendly

I strongly recommend "Power Aging" as a practical guide to anyone who wants to live a longer and healthier life. It is a down-to-earth, solid book filled with details and easy to follow advice.

In its philosophy "Power Aging" reminds me very much of "Can We Live 150 Years? by M. Tombak, which is another volume that everyone should read and own. I must compliment both authors for their non-commercial approach, easy-to-do-at-home recipes, and their commonsense approach to all aspects of health and overall wellbeing. I like Null's scientific expertise, but I also like Tombak's attention to internal body cleansing, proper breathing methods, keeping toxins out of one's intestines, kidneys, liver, blood, etc. Give them both a closer look.

Snake Oil Salesman or Medicine Show Redux?

Gary Null recently "gave" Public Television a "free" fund raising hour. Unfortunately, non-True Believers rarely monitor shows like it or modern snake oil sales pitches.

If I were a confidence man, I know I would realize that giving PBS a free hour and letting them pass out a few hundred copies of a tape for that hour or two is as good as buying an hour of TV time for millions of dollars. And he got prime time, not 2AM. Wanna bet, he gets over ten thousand dollars worth of online orders tommorow? Since PBS is government TV, being on is worth a lot more in legitimacy than buying commercial time that is clearly designated "advertisement". I am not saying he does all this. I merely cold shower the charmed mind to consider the more sober possibilities.

If you saw the show, try to step back a moment and analyze what Null did. His delivery was TV infomercial ('I jus wanna help you'), he calls himself "Dr." (in front of his name, which is legitimate in US society only for licensed medical practitioners. Others, who merely have some kind of PhD degree are entitled to place "PhD" after their name. Placing "Professor" in front of the name bends honesty, since "Professor" is not a license or a degree; It is a position bestowed by acredited schools of higher learning. Eric Hoffer didn't finish junior high but UCLA made him a full, tenured Professor of Psychology. His first, thin book (The True Believer) justified the appointment. Black intellectual Harold Cruse had no college but University of Michigan rushed to knight him Tenured Full Professor of Black History, after his only publication, "Crisis of the Black Intellectual," proved to be a best seller. To call yourself "Professor" is like calling yourself something like: "Dean of Arts and Sciences".

Always beware of any one who like Gary Null "knight" themselves "Dr." and just happen to have many things to sell, expensive things. Watch his 'TV Infomercial-meets TV "put your hand on the radio" Evengelist--Motivational Speaker-medicine show' and you may notice what's missing is the fancy wagon and leather faced 30-ish Indian who looks 75 but jumps around like a kid after drinking the magic potion.

It is about time people realized that there are Califonia hippy- looking confidence men who specialize in spreading "the word" by way of Public T.V., Public Radio, the Internet and Internet Radio. These are much cheaper, easier paths to the gullible than laying out big bucks for slack commercial T.V. airtime.

Like the Chiropractor who wants you to think he can cure anything but also needs to keep his license. He gets a few (gullible?) people to provide testimonials. "Dr. Magic cured my cancer", "Dr. Magic saved my leg," On public T.V., natural wizard "Dr. Null" relies on a handful of elderly people (who most likely are blessed with exceptional genes) to talk about the things that they think cured them and it was anything but genetic luck, hand of god, or any therapy of science-based licensed physicians. Like the ever elusive master of TV evangelism, Rev. Robert Tilton --who never, ever specifically asks for money or ever provides an address of any charity he claims to be building or running, "Dr. Null" is never specific. Listen to him carefully. Read him closely. He never quite provides you with anything solid you could provide to the FCC or an Attorney General & his Website has a very legal disclaimer at the very end of the page.

By all means, look over the garynull.com site. Its free and if you are rational and properly skeptical, you will chuckle at WHAT I SEE as slight-of-mind techniques that SEEM designed to sell books (that he mostly publishes himself) and the "health products" that ship from New Jersey, not from Magic Gary's location. Self-publishing reaps a lot more money for authors who have a way to promote and sell them. If you get to keep the entire $30, make the buyer pay shipping and handling and lay out just a few dollars each to have them printed, think how much a mere 10,000 copies will fetch!

Rational living is healthy living. The rational person asks questions. Always ask questions. In the case of "Dr. Null" ask: "how do you know that", "scientific proof please," and "why exactly should I ignore my science based (rationality based) licensed physician, and instead, put my faith (life) in nature and you instead?" Why do so many people call Null "Doctor" and "scientist" but no where is his major mentioned or the name of the university he attended. Karl Marx claimed he was a scientist too. Jesse Jackson, after the NAACP fired him for embezzlement, simply put Reverand before his name. What seminary did he attended? When did he ever serve as Minister of a church?

Oh, by the way, did you know Jim Fix, father of the running craze, pioneer nature worshiper and founder of "Runner Magazine" dropped dead before he was 45 years old? Yeah, he was running at the time. Veritas.

Good Book

Another excellent book from health and nutrition expert Gary Null. Dr Garry Null is always at the center of what you need to know. Power Aging by Gary Null is an extremely useful practical guide for people who are looking for a longer and healthier life. This book has lot of facts and details, detailed in the most easy to understand manner. Important factors for a healthier life are healthy eating habits, good nutrition, and regular exercise. In this book the author also deals specifically with alternative approaches to heart disease, cancer, the aging brain, and anti-aging in general.
Since I have been on this diet, all the cravings for junk food have gone. I use to crave coffee in the morning as well but realized I didn't want that wired up feeling
