The Only Book You Will Need or Want

This is the first and only wedding book I've needed. I read about the reviews and heard that it was an Oprah book club book, and had to have it. These authors are the watchdogs of wedding business trickery, so they can really be trusted.

I found the David's Bridal dress I wanted on eBay for $91.00! Being afraid about it's Karma, I happened to find out the dress was only used in a photo shoot for a major wedding magazine in the midwest, and had the Photographers pictures as proof. The dress was as is, meaning no alterations done. What a find. They even threw in the veil.

I've learned so much about doing things, or some things yourself to save money. I often look back at it as a refresher. I am going to probably use their flower grower connections they've listed in the book. I took their advise and read 2 books on diamonds, so I feel educated on the subject. It gave me good insight to put things on credit cards in order to utilize fraud protection for unsatisfactory services. It gave me insight on what questions to ask vendors, such as Photographers, etc. It also give helpful saving hints on invitations, and so much more.

For those of you who think that this book will give advise on making your event cheap, don't be fooled. The word is inexpensive (never cheap). This book can help you save on some areas, and frees up your money to spend on other areas if you'd like. It doesn't mean you have to go low budget on everything --- it's up to you. Don't let the size of this book fool you, as it's FULL of very valuable information.

Throw a fantastic wedding on a fantastically low budget!

I stumbled across this book while searching through what seemed like thousands of planners, workbooks and etiquette books at the bookstore. I was attracted to its unique shape (neither the standard small paperback size nor an oversized, hard-to-carry hardback) and found that it's contents were exactly what I needed. (The size of the book makes it easy to carry, tuck under your arm or stick in your purse while out and about!)

The book is divided into chapters by topic - flowers, the dress, food, DJs, etc. The chapter on invitations helped me the most, I ended up ordering beautiful invitations for $...each from a mail-order catalog that I would have been wary of before. There are tons of ways out there to save money and still have the wedding you've always dreamed of. This book provides a wealth of knowledge about everything that is out there and available to you but may be a bit off the beaten path. The authors are very thorough in covering all aspects of wedding planning and leave nothing out.

This book helped me to explore lots of options in every area of planning my wedding. They have so many suggestions and creative ideas in addition to a great summary of the usual planning ideas, tips and tricks. Planning a wedding can be very scary and intimidating and this book left me feeling prepared and armed with a wealth of knowledge when I went through planning my fantastic wedding!

Answers to all the questions

This book was one that my fiancee and i have read through at least 3 times each. It's a super reference for those who have no idea what to expect or where to get started. I actually kicked myself a few times when I did not review a section before visiting a vendor. These tips are REALLY useful. Even the ones you don't use yourself. Of all the books I was given or bought when we got engaged, this was hands down the most helpful. Compared to this one, none of the others were even worth the paper on which they were printed.
