i read the book and was interested in learning about the new biology and how cells operate.
the book is a personal account of how the author came to his beliefs. it occurs to me that one man's epihany may be another's poison. :)
the best reading, however, is in ms solloways and ms williams' reviews.
The Power of What You Believe
Dr. Lipton's book does an excellent job of debunking the idea that we are always victims of our genes. Instead, he brings forth information in which he suggests that we are victims of our programming, our true beliefs. Although he alludes to the idea that if you change your beliefs you can change your life, this is not a how-to book.
There is one thing I disagree with. If we are victims of belief then by definition we are powerless. In my opinion everything we do, every thing we choose is by agreement conscious or not. We wield a tremendous amount of power affecting not only our biology but our personal reality as well. And, all this takes place simply as a result of what we agree to believe.
This is a fine read breaking new ground. I recommend it.
Ray Dodd, Author of The Power of Belief
Outstanding & Lifechanging
After reading the book you see the pieces of recent history of the medical field fall into place. It is amazing how intelligent men can become so stupid when they feel that their livlihood is some how threatened. The doctors of today with all of their fancy machines are still working in the dark ages when it comes to understanding how our bodies work. Even when confronted with results they revert to their learned dogma.
Then to see how he ties belief to healing and living a fuller life is remarkable.
