Reviews From Our Customers

maybe the clense works, but this book is bad science

Below is something I plageurized from a yahoo group about the master cleanse. It echos my sentiments exactly. I think the author pushes bad science that could endanger your health in his zeal for this cleanse. I'm not saying this cleanse doesn't work. I'm just saying this guy is an ego-driven quack. Find the book for free online and judge for yourself.

There are a few things in the book that are just plain wrong,
such as this statement re: protein: "We first need to understand
that pure protein is primarily nitrogen, with oxygen, hydrogen and
some carbon. We all know we get a large share of our oxygen and
hydrogen needs from the air along with some carbon. There is four
times the amount of nitrogen in the same air as there is oxygen,
hydrogen and carbon combined. Since we are able to utilize and
assimilate a large amount of our needs of these elements into our
bodies we are able to assimilate and build the nitrogen also into our
bodies as protein. This is done by natural bacteria action which is
capable of converting it to our use." The idea that we can
assimilate nitrogen from the air into enough protein for our bodies
is simply not true. Our bodies need protein from food sources! His
information on feeding infants is not only not true, but would be
disastrous for the health of an infant, and quite possibly deadly.
(He suggests feeding infants coconut milk and the lemonade mixture if
they are not breastfed .) The fact that these items that I am
knowledgable about are so far off base makes me wonder if the things
that I am not so knowledgeable about are true. How does anyone know
that the body is *really* being cleansed?

Is this a bandwagon or something?

manoman. My life has certainly been affected since i discovered this slim yellow volume while obsessing about how to get mucoid plaque out of my body. Let's just begin by saying that mucoid plaque is disgusting. The average American diet is disgusting, and indeed, most average Americans are disgusting as well. Fastfood and convienience...we love these things and it shows. Each time I see a distended bowell on an obese person I cannot help but think to myself "man...that must be abvout 20 pounds of mucoid plaque."But enough of my personal rant. Getting to the point, this book assists in the effort to rid oneself of mucoid plaque. As far as fixing obesety goes, i dunno...weight loss is a side effect of this program, but as the text warns, certainly not the intended use. I'll sum up the experience of my 10 day commitment with this single observation: After 10 days with no solid food, mucoid plaque was still being expelled. This is a path of self-discovery, as many things in life are, and it would be thievery on my part to explain all the details of the experience. Plus, i dont want to type it all out anyway. It's gross at times, hard at times, and gratifying at times. I came out of it with satisfaction in greater personal clenliness and an increased strength of will. When it gets difficult to stay commited, as it most assuredly will at some point or another, keep this foremost in your mind: There have been autopsies performed on people who's small intestine stored 40 pounds of mucoid plaque. that is simply gross. And exercize won't burn it away. Good luck to those who dare it.

Short and Lemonade Sweet!

If your looking for a short how to do a Lemonade Fast book, this is the book for you. If your also interested in all the Physical, Spiritual and Emotional benefits of fasting, you should also buy the book "The Fasting Path" by Stephen Harrod Buhner, because this book doesn't really go into any of these things.

I did this fast for 18 days myself and found it quite helpful. You not only get your teenage 6-pack back, you finally develop an appreciation for healthy foods and become allot stronger when it comes to the emotional aspects of dealing with food.

A great fast to be on if you need to keep physically active. And you can't beat the price. Buy it, but also buy the other book I have recommended above.
