| Paperback Description In their "Declaration of Independence" the authors and researchers of this guide swear their allegiance to you, the consumer. "If a restaurant serves bad food, or a gift item is overpriced, or a certain ride isn't worth the wait, we can say so, and in the process we hope to make your visit more fun, efficient, and economical." And because they've found that "spontaneity and self-discovery work about as well at Walt Disney World as they do on your tax return," The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World is packed full of essential advice for anyone braving the frontiers of the mother of all theme parks. To help you decide what's most important for you and your family to see, each attraction is described in detail and ranked for different age groups based on interviews with more than 9,000 families. The book also covers when to go, pros and cons of lodging outside "the World," hotel and restaurant ratings, field-tested itineraries, tips and warnings, planning strategies, and how to meet Disney characters. Humorous writing accompanied by cartoonist Tami Knight's satiric insights make this guide fun to read. Parks covered include The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom, The Disney-MGM Studios, Universal Studios Florida, Sea World, area water theme parks, and a section called "Beyond the Parks," which delves into other various Disney offerings like golf (mini and maxi), a speedway, and Discovery Island. --Kathryn True |

Cinderellas Castle This book is a waste! I followed the directions they give to get a reservation at Cinderellas Castle for Breakfast. They said to call 60 days in advance at exacly 6:59:40. 3 days I tried this. On the 4th day I tried earlier. I got through! Just to find out that reservations are now taken 90 DAYS IN ADVANCE!!!! This book is out if date and it was the 2005 edition!
My Disney Bible This book was a life-saver when I was planning our family's Disney vacation. I used many of the book's tips as well as the touring guides. By reading through all the restaurant choices, I was able to select places I thought my family would enjoy. Our trip was a major success, and I have this book to thank for it.
I wouldn't go to Disney without it! This book really, really came in handy for our trip to Disney. I purchased it a few months prior to leaving so I could read it cover to cover, highlighting the information important to me. How wonderful to be "in the know" about so many things! It made for smooth sailing the entire day at Disney, not to mention my DD making it for the all-important Princess Breakfast in the castle, and I learned about the Ye Olde Barber Shoppe and getting DD's haircut there for the first time, what an experience! I read my girlfriend's Birnbaum book and in comparison this is a MUCH more datailed informative book. Don't hesitate to purchase this if your planning that Disney trip...... Partner this book with Universal Orlando by Kelly Monaghan if you plan on heading there. (I highly recommend Universal Studios AND Islands of Adventure...we loved both of these parks)
.....Now to find that perfect Western Caribbean book for our upcoming cruise. |
