Reviews From Our Customers

What a BRAVE woman!!

I just finished this book a few moments ago and had to get in here to write my review. This book is unbelieveable. Jeannette is such a brave woman to have come out of this background and then to have a career and a healthy and normal life. While reading this book you almost forget that it is non-fiction and can begin to believe that someone made this up. No indeed, Jeannette survived this childhood. And when you read this book you will understand the meaning of that survival. I would love to meet her but commend her courage to write about this upbringing. Please don't miss the chance to read about it.

Path to Salvation

"Being homeless is an adventure," says author Jeannette Walls's mother. What a way to look at life. Is that the view of the ultimate optimist? Or is that just someone really wacko? Reading "The Glass Castle" you'll feel both ways about Walls's mother. Walls had an adventuresome childhood, sometimes sad and sometime humorous. She tells her story with great skill and holds your attention the entire time. I would have to say "The Glass Castle" is one of the best books I have read lately. I also would recommend "The Mermaid Chair", "My Fractured Life", and "Smashed."

10 STARS, so great

I have done a lot of reading through out my life and this was by far the very best. It was funny and sad and touching and so on and so on. I loved this book so much and for once on amazon I am seeing people actualy being nice to an author. It is well deserved and refreshing. I give this book the highest possible score and I would also like to recommend Whisper of the wicked saints. Thanks so much to jeanette for writing this it was wonderful.
