Excellent and practical
I would have loved to have this book when I was a medical student and later, when I taught medical students as well. An incredibly useful and illustrative demonstration of the muscles involved in all weight training exercises (from push ups to barbell shrugs) and beyond. Traditional medical anatomy books all get lost in the "insertion point, anchoring point" details, losing the life, the actual physical role of muscles. The illustrations from this book should be enlarged and displayed in every gym that truly cares about its members. Plus, you can see that there are no magic moves, strengthening tricks appearing monthly in men's magazines or infomercials (Ab-trekk-flexx and whatever). A muscle is a muscle and what and how it does is clearly shown in this book.
Excellent Intermediate Guide to Bodybuilding Exercises
This book is an excellent resource for intermediate level bodybuilders. It contains gorgeous drawings of hundreds of exercies and variants for all muscle groups. Accompanying text explains how to do each one and what muscle groups or parts of muscles are emphasized. It's very useful if you need to learn how to diversify your workouts.
The book is very focused (thankfully). It contains nothing about how to put together a good workout schedule, so it is not a good first resource for beginners. It also does not cover preparing for competitions, nutrition, or anything like that.
Better than I expected
I have looked at a lot of training books but this one is by far the best I have seen to date for the novice or the advanced body builder. Given its price it is excellent value for money
