Steele at Her Worst
I have been a fan of Danielle Steele since I was a teenager. I have read all of her books and even named my first born after a character in her book "Palomino'. Fast Forward some 25 years and 60 some books later and I have never been disappointed in one of her books until now. Impossible was boring, the story line was repetative and I had to force myself to finish it. Normally I rush right out to buy her books the day they are released but I have to say now, that I will not do that anymore. I will wait til they come out in paperback or until I can find them at a thrift store or garage sale.
Can You Say Comma?
I have said repeatedly that I was finished with DS, yet, like some other reviewers here, seem incapable of resisting. I remember when a new DS novel was cause for celebration. Now I look forward to seeing how much further she has slipped!
This is by far the worst yet. I also wonder if someone else is writing for her now. I had a hard time reading this due to the poor grammar, total disregard for punctuation and repetition. At least I didn't see any spelling errors.
I am a writer myself, working on my first novel. I read fiction as a break from my own writing as well as to continue to work on my writing skills. I resent the fact that this author is able to get away with the kinds of errors that would cause my manuscript to be rejected by any publisher to whom I might submit it.
One star is too good for this one. Don't waste your time or money, or even your library rights!
I'M a TRUE Fan...but.....
I will have to be honest, I'm the fan of Mrs. Steele's that actually goes to her web site to see when her next book is going to be out and then I write the date at the top of every calender that I own. I make sure that I am at Sam's Club on the date released to purchase the book as soon as I can.
Well, this book.....DO NOT buy until it comes out in paperback and I then suggest...go get if from the library or a yard sale!
It is AWFUL! I have never read one of her books that I did not give a 4 or 5 star rating. Remember, I buy them the day they hit the stands so I own them ALL, In hardback!
This book....was pretty bad. I would start it on a flight or in an airport...put it down and have to restart it to get "back into it". I have done this now 6 times and just finished it!
I'm not sure that this book was read by anyone of importance or a publisher as it is very ....let's say...repetative. Even the same words and pharases were used over and over. I felt like some chapters were the same as the ones earlier in the book. The plot ...well, I'm not sure that there was one. And just the idea behind the book was a little too immature for adult readers. We were told in this book that one character was 9 years younger than another about 100 times! I finally wanted to scream "i got that, I'm not STUPID"!
Do NOT BUY this book!! It will upset you that Mrs. Steel's books are getting to this!
Wait for the next book of hers and know that is HAS TO Be better!
