Reviews From Our Customers

Better. Much Better.

At the time I'm writing this, Eldest is unreleased. Note that I am using an Advance Readers Copy.

The most important part about Eldest is that it is a thousand times better than Eragon. If you read Eragon, you would undoubtably think to yourself, "This was obviously written by a teenager." Not anymore. Paolini's writing skill has improved vastly. The huge overuse of similies and adverbs? Gone. Predictable, Star Wars-like plot turns? Gone. The Lord of the Rings copyings do continue, but at a smaller rate.

The storyline itself has been greatly improved with the addition of other points of view, like Roran and Nasuada, who actually end up being more interesting at times than Eragon himself. There are finally some genuinely funny and emotional parts. Some of the developments have been forseen on the fan sites, but other things we never could have predicted have happened.

The characters really have changed from the cardboard ones of Eragon. They have more complicated and unpredictable personalities, and characters who were previously godlike have now shown faults, and become more human. All of our expectations have been exceeded in this book.

We waited a long time for this, and Christopher Paolini has delivered.

Not even out

I just loved "ERAGON" and can't wait for the second. For anybody that has read the first you'll agree. It was the best. I could hardly put it down. I ended up reading it in three days. I just loved it and now I want to read ELDEST now. I know that it kind of copied LORD OF THE RINGS with names and characters but it still is really good. You just have to read it.
